          Hip Hop Spotlight! Marino @315marino just released his new single "New New York". I bought it on Itunes and listened to it yesterday. As usual his bars are dope and swag on point, but the thing that stood out to me was his flow! The flow was so smooth, it sounded like he did it in one take! The way he rode the track you could tell he was comfortable with the beat. I think Artists should always pick beats that they know they'll murder, and not just for a particular sound; that way you know you'll kill it and you get to showcase your skills. I also like how he mentioned performing at SXSW this year. When he told me he was performing, I knew he was serious about his music career. All he gotta do now is keep putting out good music...

​   Today's Hip Hop Spotlight comes from an Artist I spotlighted before. Marino @315marino recently dropped his project Y.F.T.I. 2.0. I bought it on Itunes, but it's also available on Spotify. The cool thing about following an Artist is to hear the growth in their music! He still has swag and dope lyrics, but you can tell he wanted to do even better than his last project! To me that's the mark of a true Artist! One who keeps putting the time in to perfect their craft, and trying to outdo themselves with each new release. "NightTime" has always been a favorite, but he killed it on "Bars of Honor", "Next Level", "Tomorrow's Greatest Music", and "Can You Picture Me"! On this one, he elevated his swag, beats, and rhymes!

      Very true... Our minds seem to have a part that wants to support you, and a part that wants to hold you back... It's like whenever I'm about to do something or take some kind of risk, my mind will instantly come up with a million reasons why I shouldn't. I even remember times when I've talked myself out of making certain moves because I didn't know what the outcome would be. The thing is, you never know what will happen, you just have to make a decision and live with the results. Sometimes it's hard to do, but you have to reject negative thoughts and focus on the ones that push you forward...

      I think this is true... All of us have talent and some are more talented than others, but I believe the time and effort you put into your grind will take you a lot further than just having talent. If you think about it, a lot of people who made it in life might not have been the smartest or the most talented, but they could hustle harder and grind harder than others were willing to do. It could be they were willing to stay up at night, read books, watch videos, network, learn about their business, work on their craft, practice their skills, etc... They were basically willing to go that extra mile to succeed. Now of course some get lucky breaks, or were born into a rich family, but the ones that are self-made probably got there by the sweat of their brow...
