      Yesterday there was a Memorial Service for one of my first loves... The Akai MPC 2000...
All of the beats on beattrunk.com were sequenced and programmed on this beauty... I've spent
many nights working on beats. That 16 bit sound will always remind me of why I fell in love with Hip Hop. I remember the first time I got it. I didn't even know you had to buy sounds for it! 🤣Dang I've come a long way, and still learning... So today I salute the MPC for everything it gave to me and everything it will inspire me to do in the future. I'm not saying I won't ever use it again but it's time for a change...

          Hip Hop Spotlight! Marino @315marino just released his new single "New New York". I bought it on Itunes and listened to it yesterday. As usual his bars are dope and swag on point, but the thing that stood out to me was his flow! The flow was so smooth, it sounded like he did it in one take! The way he rode the track you could tell he was comfortable with the beat. I think Artists should always pick beats that they know they'll murder, and not just for a particular sound; that way you know you'll kill it and you get to showcase your skills. I also like how he mentioned performing at SXSW this year. When he told me he was performing, I knew he was serious about his music career. All he gotta do now is keep putting out good music...
